DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The city of Dallas sees the reboot of the Dallas TV series as a critical step in getting other big projects to film here. Dallas Film Commissioner Janice Burklund says TNT’s announcement of 10 episodes of a new Dallas series to premiere next summer is the best news they’ve had in a while.
“We had to have Dallas here or it’s really hard to argue why if they don’t shoot Dallas here would you shoot anything else. We’ve had a pretty good run here. We had three television series this last season and there are some others we’re talking to as well,” Burkland said.
With the announcement, the city is going ahead with spending more than 200 thousand dollars to put air conditioning in and make other improvements to a warehouse that will be used as studio space. The series that will feature original cast members will be previewed on TNT tonight between 8 and 9PM Central.
