FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Two men have been charged with capital murder for killing an east Fort Worth convenience store clerk on July 1.
Frederick Jones, 30, and Jeremy Hopkins, 29, are each in jail with a $500,000 bond.
According to Fort Worth Police spokeswoman Sharron Neal, surveillance footage from the Smokey’s Paradise convenience store in the 5300 block of east Rosedale captured a man entering the store and shooting the 66-year-old clerk multiple times.
The suspect then took money from the register and left. The victim was pronounced about 90 minutes after the shooting. The entire incident lasted about 30 seconds, Neal said.
Police arrested Jones on July 12 and Hopkins on July 15 and charged each with capital murder.
