Taxi Driver Sought After 2 Dead Near Irving Mall

IRVING (AP) – Police are searching for a taxi driver suspected of gunning down two men in a store parking lot near an Irving shopping mall.

Irving police say there did not appear to be any criminal activity before the attack Sunday afternoon in a parking lot across the street from Irving Mall.

Police on Monday identified the victims as 35-year-old Mehboob Pirani of Euless and 35-year-old Rahim Merchant of Missouri City. Pirani died at a Dallas hospital, while Merchant was dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the driver of a yellow or gold cab opened fire, then he fled. Police have not released his name or any possible motive.

Raj -you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. These were 2 decent, ordinary family men just doing what anybody would on a Sunday afternoon. Your ignorant comments are very hurtful to their families and friends.I pray this never happens to you or your loved ones. Stop stereotyping people and just stop and think think before you write stupid comments. This time is hard enough for loved ones without you and your comments.
