Polygamist Leader Convicted Of Child Sex Abuse

SAN ANGELO (AP)  A Texas jury has convicted polygamist leader Warren Jeffs on child sexual assault charges in a case stemming from two young followers he took as brides in what his church calls “spiritual marriages.”

The 55-year-old head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints stood stone-faced as the verdict was read.

The charges came after a massive 2008 raid of the church’s remote West Texas ranch. Jeffs faces up to life in prison.
A forensic analyst testified that Jeffs was an almost certain DNA match to the child of a 15-year-old mother. Jeffs also was accused of assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

Jeffs acted as his own attorney and claimed he was a victim of religious persecution.

All you Bible belt freaks believe this God fearing man is going to heaven? Because I am pretty sure this pervert thinks he is!

Just because someone reads the Bible and professes faith in Christ, that does not mean that we condone or support plural marriage, or that this activity conducted by Warren Jeffs is even described in the Bible. The Bible has little to do with this one…he misused his religion to manipulate vulnerable people to follow him, obey him, and surrender access of their daughters to him. Can you say CULT????

  3. Stephen Wade says:

Salvation is by faith in God’s provision for sin, not by deeds. The question is: what god is this gentleman believing in?? Because the God who is associated with ‘heaven’ does not condone disgraceful social behavior nor the manipulation of young souls to satisfy warped desires.

If there is a god and he allows Warren Jeffs in heaven when he dies I want no part of that. I really think a god who simply forgives your sins and continues to allow you to be your usual perverted self is a stupid ridiculous god. Good and moral people who aren’t necessarily saved should be allowed to have a wonderful afterlife NOT you Bible thumpin saved christians who continue your wicked ways.
