KEMP (CBS 11 NEWS) - After days with no water, almost all of the residents and businesses in Kemp once again have water. Mayor Donald Kile said water started flowing to homes late Monday night.
Residents still cannot drink the water unless it is boiled, so residents can pick up drinking water from the city.
Mayor Kile urged strict conservation until the water reserves are full. He asked residents to refrain from watering lawns and filling pools. He said anyone caught watering lawns could get their meter pulled.
Tuesday morning, 10 meters were still off and crews were working to restore water to those residents and businesses.
