Get Your Chocolate Fix At Addison Chocolate Conference
Chocoholics, the wait is almost over. Chocolate Conference 2011 is just around the corner and it promises to bring a scrumptious schedule of classes, discussions, and demonstrations—and tastings–of all things chocolate. To be held on August 27 at the Addison Conference Center (15650 Addison Road Addison, TX), the Chocolate Conference features two main components for thew participants: A Showcase of Chocolate exhibition hall and a Chocolate Academy.
According to the organizers, Chocolate Conference attendees can sample chocolates from participating chocolatiers and chocolate makers, some of Dallas’ best, in the exhibition hall. From truffles to flavored bars, from salted caramel to chocolate bark, choco-lovers can have their fill of the sweet treat. An adult ticket allows for ten samples during any one of the four sampling sessions. Participating chocolatiers include Coco Andre, Wiseman House Chocolates, Collin College, Nib Chocolates, Sublime Chocolate, Toffee Treats, Chocolate Secrets, Dr. Sue’s Chocolate, The Dark Chocolate Bakery.
In the Chocolate Academy, the organizers are scheduled to hold talks and panel discussion about the beginnings of chocolate. Some chocolate “experts” scheduled to speak include Shawn Askinosie (Askinosie Chocolate), Michael Recchiuti (Recchiuti Confections), Art Pollard (Amano Artisan Chocolate), Clay Gordon (The Chocolate Life), and Adrienne Newman (Madame Cocoa).
The Academy will kick off the day (and what’s better in the morning than chocolate?) with a Chocolatier’s Roundtable – which promises to be a lively discussion with all participating chocolatiers. Attendees will also get the opportunity to interact with chocolatiers, so choco-curious folks, get ready with your burning questions (Milk Chocolate vs. Dark Chocolate? Calorie-free chocolate, yay or nay? White chocolate—is it really chocolate?).
Tickets are 15 (plus tax) in advance and $20 (including tax) on the day of the Conference. Tickets for children include three samples and are available for $5 (plus tax) in advance and $6 (including tax) on the day of the Conference.
