The Newest Foods At The State Fair Of Texas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The State Fair of Texas always brings out some of the most inventive and delicious foods. Past dishes – like Fried Butter and Fried Beer – even garnered national attention. So, with the fair fast approaching, a new list of tasty treats are ready to get your tummy rumbling.

The Big Tex Choice Awards, to be held this coming Labor Day, showcases the best of the new batch of foods. Judges will pick winners for Best Taste and Most Creative from a list which was narrowed down to eight finalists earlier in the month.

Below are descriptions of the yummy finalists, provided by fair officials. Win or lose, all foods will be available at the State Fair of Texas when the event kicks off on September 30 at Fair Park in Dallas. (Click here for more information about the fair.)

Why so much fried food? Cna’t you have something tasty that isn’t fried? No wonder everyone in Dallas is morbidly obese.

    1. Nobu and Kenichi RULE! says:

Two words: Salmon sashimi. Two more: Bluefin sashimi. Two great things, rich in essential fats and oils that is not fried and loaded with carbs. To sashimi!

    2. Raquel Craig says:

you are OBVIOUSLY NOT from Dallas. Take a trip to the downtown/area so you can see ALL that Dallas has to offer. All of the city is far from being obese

Hans’ Kr@ut Ball is also a popular show on the Reeperbahn Straße in Berlin’s Red Light District.

Yes, I realize the “@” instead of “a”, but if you spell it properly on this message board, it filters it as a racial slur against Germans and will not allow you to post. No kidding. Try it.

    1. C Bauer says:

      Ooops. I meant Hamburg.

  3. Wilford Brimley, The Diabeetus Guy says:

Given the location of the Texas State Fair and what is served, the motto should be, “Your One-Stop Overpriced Destination For Diabetes and Carjacking!”

  4. Ed Sullivan says:

Jesus Christ, that whole menu sounds like a disastrous recipe for projectile diarrhea. I hope Conan, Dave, and that anvil-jawed putz on NBC doesn’t hear about this “food”, otherwise, it will be a week of turning Texas into a national laughingstock!

  5. NiteNurse says:

It’s fair food. You’re not suppose to over eat. I’m sure eating a fresh salad while walking around will be practical.
