By Ryan Crowe,

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – There is a reason a 3-year-old boy from Weatherford became a YouTube star this year.  ‘He My Team’ isn’t just a child talking, it really describes Micheal Young.

He’s certainly not the flashiest, best known, or even most prolific Ranger, but Michael Young is the Lou Gehrig of the Texas Rangers.  He’s the workhorse, having played shortstop, second and third base, and doing them all exceptionally well (winning a gold glove at Shortstop in 2008) while being moved around as other players came and went from the Rangers lineup.

But it’s his hitting where Micheal Young has shined the most. He’s made the AL All-Star team 7 out of the past 8 years, and notched his 2,000th career hit on August 7, making him the first Rangers player to do so.  He’s also the team’s all-time leader for at-bats and triples, and has said he has no plans to go anywhere, despite a tumultuous off-season where everyone (especially 3-year-old fans) were convinced he would be gone.

So to our 11-year veteran, we salute you as the 3rd greatest Ranger ever.  He My Team, and will hopefully be for many more hits to come.
