IRVING (AP)  Although Tony Romo said “I cost us a football game,” his teammates on the Dallas Cowboys insist that’s not the case.

Several players said Monday the Cowboys wouldn’t have been in position to beat the New York Jets on Sunday night if not for Romo’s stellar play during the first 50 minutes, and that other mistakes contributed to Dallas letting a 14-point, fourth-quarter lead turn into a loss.

Still, Romo’s flubs,  a fumble 3 yards from the end zone and an interception that set up the winning field goal,  stand out because they were reckless decisions late in a tight game, a bad habit throughout his career.

Romo said Monday he’s “just got to make sure that doesn’t happen again, and I’m going to make sure of that.”

have said for some time, that Romo doesn’t play well under pressure, and as long as he is the Dallas QB, the team will not be able to win consistently.

Of course, it is interesting to note that after the loss, you have to go to sports to see anything about it, but if they had won, it would have been front page news. Anyone else amused by that?

Pro sports is a waste of time, anyway. The only beneficiaries, are the owners, coaches, and players, in that order. Money wasted for no benefit, is what the public receives.

I have always been a Cowboy fan since the Don Meredith days, I know that quarterbacks like to celebrate after making a big touchdown but I believe that Tony Romo looks like a kid out there when he first scores. Knowing his history of fumbles and interceptions at crucial times he needs to take care of business during the game and celebrate after the win.
