FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Fort Worth police say an armed woman knocked on doors and checked doorknobs at the Normandale Place apartments near Las Vegas Trail and Camp Bowie in late evening hours of August 27th of this year. The complex houses many elderly people.

When an 83 year old woman, who was expecting company, heard the knock on her door she told the suspect to come in to come in. Much to her surprise the person who entered her residence was not who she was expecting.

The unknown intruder ransacked the woman’s apartment in a matter of minutes and when she didn’t find anything of value stole the rings right off the 83 year old woman’s hands. She then took the woman’s handbag and fled. Sergeant Pedro Criado says while the victim wasn’t physically harmed, she was terrified.

The suspect is a black female, 5’8” – 5’10” 160-180 lbs. She was seen driving a white “box style” car, possibly a Jeep Cherokee.

Police are asking you to call Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477)  if you have any information on the suspect pictured above.
