IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) – Investigators with the Irving Police Department have identified, but not located, the suspected driver in a hit-and-run accident that severely injured a woman and child.

The suspected driver is Marvin Perez. Perez is a Hispanic male, stands 5’6” and weighs about 160 pounds. An arrest warrant has been issued for the 27-year-old, who could face a charge of Accident Involving Injury or Death.

Irving police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian accident on Sunday. When officers arrived at the scene, in the 600 block of E. Grauwyler Road, they found a woman and child lying on the sidewalk.

The initial police investigation determined that a man, driving a green Mazda 626, was traveling on Grauwyler when the vehicle crossed over the westbound lanes and onto the sidewalk. After hitting the woman and child the driver, later identified as Perez, continued a short distance, then fled the area on foot.

The hit-and-run left the 57-year-old female victim in serious, but stable, condition. The 7-year-old female victim is in critical, but stable, condition.

Police are now searching for Perez and are asking for public assistance in finding him.

Anyone who has information about the whereabouts of Marvin Perez should contact the Irving Police department as (972) 273-1010.
