Smoke Alarm Could Earn Wylie Residents Free Pizza

WYLIE (CBSDFW.COM) – A working smoke detector could get you a free pizza this week.

This is fire prevention week, the time of year fire departments across the country urge residents to change the batteries on their home smoke alarm.

In Wylie, the fire department will be make house calls Wednesday if you order a pizza from Domino’s.

Jen Hug with Domino’s says the Wylie Fire Department will be delivering pizzas in their trucks, and if you have a working fire alarm in your home, the order will be free.

Not every call will get a fire truck delivery, only select ones, says Hug.

KRLD’s L.P. Phillips Reports

If the fire alarm is not working, you still have to pay the regular cost, but the fire department will swap out the batteries for free and leave you with a working alarm.

Sounded great, until I read it was from Domino’s.

  2. I was in a fire and the smoke detectors did not go off or could not be heard. As a result, 7 families lost their homes the day after Christmas. Always make sure your fire alarm works and you are ready for disaster.

  3. Peter Griffin says:

I’d rather have Ernest Borgnine give me a Cleveland Steamer than eat a Domino’s pizza.

  4. You are all seriously missing the point here. It’s not about Domino’s pizza, its about protecting your life.
