DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) – An armed man was arrested after causing Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital to lockdown when he threatened to kill himself outside the emergency room Tuesday afternoon.
Texas Health Resources spokeswoman Richel Raya said the man was outside the entrance with the weapon at about 3 p.m. Employees raced inside and locked the hospital down. Denton Police were on location.
Michael Hansen, a witness on the scene and a CBS 11 employee, said the man retreated to a dark colored truck in the center of the parking lot. At about 3:45 p.m., the man exited the truck and was taken into custody without incident.
Denton Police spokesman Ryan Grelle said the man was shouting about killing himself and donating his organs to someone else. The suspect has not been identified.
