Romo Says He & Wife Expecting Baby

CEDAR HILL (CBSDFW.COM) – They were married in an elaborate summer wedding, now Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo says he and his wife, the former Candice Crawford, are expecting their first child.

Romo was speaking at a drug prevention event at Cedar Hill High School when he made the announcement.

Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin attended the school event with Romo and was also on stage when a student asked, “Do either of you have any kids?” Austin replied, “No. I don’t have any kids.” Romo said, “I actually got one on the way. My wife’s pregnant…”

Candice is reportedly due in early March.

Romo appeared to be healing well from a rib injury he suffered earlier in the season. The Cowboys faced off against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The quarterback threw for two touchdown passes in the 34-7 win.

I can’t believe how some people can’t wait to rain on somebody’s parade! We are talking about a baby announcement and it gets turned into something else like a vendetta!!! When will people learn that if they don’t have anything nice to say, it’s best to NOT open your mouth!!!everybody is entitled to their own opinion I know but some take it a bit too far!! I for one am happy for Tony and know he will be a great Dad like his own Father and Grandfather, that I know personally because we are related. Sorry if I made this too long for some but I had to say how and what I felt! Congratulations to the whole family!!!

lol mary. dont mistake my comment for something its not. im glad they are having a child. great news. i also think it is the distraction that is hindering romo’s performance and as a result should consider a break in the game. being a good q-back dont make you a good expectant father. its a situation he has absolutely zero control over and thats hard for some guys with big ego’s. the team has enough problems as it is. removing one distraction could make the difference in a season.

altha, if you cant form a sentence keep your comments to your self. darrel, i know his performances havent been stellar but he is by far our best qb and gives us the best chance to win every game…you probably wanted to trade for palmer right? romo takes chances, albeit at inappropriate times but thats what you need to do to be an elite qb. romo is our guy and i know he can lead us to the, and win, the superbowl. congrats tony!
