DeSoto Couple Charged With Compelling Teen Into Prostitution

HOUSTON (AP) – A North Texas couple has been jailed in Houston and accused of forcing a Houston teen into prostitution.

Melvin James Bell and Kierra Nicole Benjamin were booked Sunday into Harris County Jail and charged with compelling prostitution. Bell’s bond is set at $30,000, while Benjamin’s bond is set at $20,000.

Jail records show neither has an attorney.

According to court documents, Houston police undercover officers contacted the DeSoto pair through an online advertisement Sunday and arranged to meet them and the girl at a west Houston motel. Bell and Benjamin were arrested at the meeting that night and the girl was turned over to Harris County juvenile officials.

A teen prostitute not at the Occupy Dallas camp? Talk about a missed business opportunity!

    • Atheist Lawyer

Ah, it would appear to be a missed business opportunity. However, you’re missing a key element to any business transaction, which is: goods and services are exchanged for MONEY or other goods or services, which none of the Occupy Dallas jackanapes can offer.
