Fort Worth School Board President Resigns
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The Board of Education president for the Fort Worth Independent School district has resigned.
In the letter given to the school board secretary, Raymond Dickerson said he’d made the decision because of health issues.
He wrote, in part, “I have concluded that it is imperative that I resign after consultation with my family, medical team, close friends and advisors.”
Dickerson, a retired bank executive, was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2008.
Fort Worth ISD board policy dictates that the position be filled no later than 180 days after the vacancy occurs.
Dickerson’s last day will be December 8.
The next FWISD school board meeting will be held December 13.
Currently, the next school board election is scheduled to take place in 2013.
