FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The Red Cross is getting a boost from Burger King in the form of 10 emergency response vehicles nationwide.
The large red and white trucks will be able to serve 1,000 meals a day during disasters where the Red Cross is called in to assist.
KRLD’s Chuck Schechner reports:
Anita Foster with the Red Cross thanks Burger King customers who donated the money to buy the truck.
Locally, the Red Cross had a very busy 2011, a year that included wildfires across Texas.
The donation is one of ten such trucks donated by Burger King, and the only one in Texas.
