DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) wants your input on proposed new routes and service changes.

On Monday night the first of several pre-public hearing community meetings will be held to give the public an opportunity to weigh in on proposed route changes scheduled to take place on July 30 and December 3.

DART officials say the changes are needed to accommodate the opening of the DART Rail Orange Line to Irving in July and the December extensions of both the Blue Line and the Orange Line.

If you can’t make it to one of the scheduled meetings, DART is also using social media to encourage customer feedback.

Next Tuesday, January 17, DART is hosting a tweet chat. Members of the DART staff will answer questions through its @dartmedia Twitter account between 1 and 2 p.m. Anyone can follow the conversation at #2012DART.

Questions and comments during the chat are official and will be included as a part of the public record regarding the proposed bus service changes.

Monday night’s meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and is being held at the Hampton-Illinois Branch Library located at 2951 South Hampton Road in Dallas.
