KELLER (CBSDFW.COM) – There’s been another twist in the case of a North Texas man shot and killed in his home last October.

After stories of a home invasion, suicide and suspicious death, on Monday Michele Marie Williams was arrested for the murder of her husband, Gregory Williams.

Michele Williams was taken into custody without incident near her home in Flower Mound.

Gregory Williams was shot and killed on October 13 at a house inside the gated-community of Twins Lakes in Keller. That’s the morning Michelle Williams made a hysterical 911 call claiming a man had come into the house, shot her husband and hit her in the head.

Officers arrived and found Gregory Williams in bed with a single gunshot wound to the head – what they didn’t find was any evidence of forced entry. As the investigation went on a K-9 officer found no indication that anyone else, besides the Williams family, had been in the house.

When police spoke with Michele Williams again her story changed and she then claimed her husband had committed suicide. The 42-year-old woman alleged said she had cleaned up evidence, made pry marks on the door and hit herself in the face all to keep her young daughter from knowing her dad had killed himself.

At the time of the incident Lt. Brenda Slovak, with the Keller Police Department, explained what Michele Williams told authorities. “She is saying she was in the living room and heard a noise and went into the bedroom and found her husband with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” said Slovak.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner later ruled that the death of Gregory Williams was a homicide.

Keller Police say they still don’t have a motive in the case, but are now going over the Williams’ finances, including insurance policies. Friends tell CBS 11 they were unaware of any marital problems between the couple.

After months of collecting information, in what police call an ongoing investigation, a first-degree murder warrant was issued for Michele Williams Monday. Police have also charged her with Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and making a false report.

Michele Williams is currently in the Keller Detention Facility with bonds totaling more than half a million dollars.
