Dallas/Fort Worth Area Makes List Of Rudest Cities

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Apparently that time when you were cut off on the highway and had your parking space “stolen” weren’t isolated incidents in North Texas.

Travel and Leisure is out with its list of the rudest cities in the country and yes, we made the list.

Readers ranked the people in the Dallas Fort Worth area as the 6th rudest. It seems North Texans have grown tired of the old jokes about cowboys and oil wells and have become a bit surly about it.

It’s sad to say ‘at least we’re not number one’, but that’s all we’ve got.

Coming in at the top of the list – the Big Apple. According to the list, New York City is the “heavyweight title in hostility.”

East coast cities Miami, Washington, D.C. and Boston were also in the top five.

Last years winner, Los Angeles, came in at the number four position.

Conversely, Travel and Leisure listed Nashville, Tennessee as the city with the friendliest people.

Well that’s a fine thing to be known for. Come on people, we can do better than this. How about the old saying as treating your fellow man like you would want to be treated. Anyone remember that?

Starting with the Highland Park Women all the way to our own City Government representatives they surely nailed this one.

Damn yankee transplants. They also should have considered Dallas and Ft Worth separately,it would’ve yielded different results.

  4. Damn Yankee says:

Having lived and visited cities around the country, this information comes as no suprise. And it’s certainly not the “damn yankee transplants”, but a clear reflection of the arrogance and unfounded pride of those natives that would make such comments.
