Eye On Traffic: February 4-10

By Julie Fisk, Teresa Frosini, and Jeff Ray, CBSDFW.COM

CBSDFW.COM’s Eye On Traffic blog gets you ready for your commute all week long.  Every Friday afternoon we tell you about the hotspots you need to avoid in the coming week.

KRLD’s Julie Fisk covers Dallas and Collin Counties:

The Eastbound main lanes of Woodall Rogers will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Saturday night and will stay closed until 10 a.m. the following morning.

TXDOT also plans to close the intersection of Preston Road and Highway 380 at 9 p.m. Friday night. That will reopen at noon on Saturday.

The two right lanes of 635 will be closed between Luna and 35E on Friday night at 9 p.m. and will not reopen until 5 a.m. Monday morning.

The Dallas Mavericks will play the Indiana Pacers Friday night, so you’ll see heavy traffic around the American Airlines Center leading up to the 7:30 start time.  Dallas Stars are also playing the AAC this Saturday night and on Tuesday night, so there will probably be delays on those nights as well.

Don’t forget that Kelly Clarkson will play at Verizon Theater next Friday night (2/10) so expect to see lines of traffic on I-30 in both directions leading up to Verizon.

If you come across a traffic problem in the meantime and want to share it with us, call the KRLD Traffic Tip Hotline at 214-634-1080. We always want to hear from you!

CBS 11′s Teresa Frosini covers Tarrant and Denton Counties:

It’s a big weekend for construction at the DFW Connector.  Beginning Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m., both directions of Highway 114 @ Texan Trail will be closed for the demolition of the Texan Trail Bridge.  The frontage road will be the alternate route but expect big delays traveling around that area all weekend.

And the Fort Worth Stock Show ends this weekend.  They have had record numbers visit Cowtown this year so watch for delays Friday and Saturday around the area.

This week CBS 11 Meteorologist Jeff Ray breaks down the cost of the commute.  You won’t believe the numbers:
