DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – An eight-month-old girl is recovering at Medical City Hospital after she slipped under the water during a bath Saturday afternoon.

Dallas Police Department spokeswoman Sherri Jeffrey said the emergency call came in at 2:45 p.m. from an apartment in the 9800 block of Audelia Road.

Officers performed CPR on the child before Dallas Fire Rescue crews arrived to take her to Medical City. The girl remains in critical but stable condition Saturday night. Police are investigating and would not comment further.

Ed. Note: Information was scarce for much of the day; initially, a Dallas Fire Rescue dispatcher said the child was six-months-old. A previous version of this story reported that information. The girl is eight-months-old.

How sad. I hope the baby doesn’t die and has no lasting effects.
