Nothing like starting your day dancing with dozens of women to blaring salsa music.

If you haven’t tried it yet, Zumba is the most fun form of exercise on the planet, especially when you walk out of the gym to such a gorgeous, top-down kind of Texas morning!

What made this morning even more spectacular, though, was the mini-pep talk with which our instructor ended class. She talked about how dozens of people will be kind and complimentary to us, but we’ll end up simmering in that one negative comment we hear. She encouraged us to remember we’re awesome just the way we are.

And then she ended the class with jazz hands. Just kidding. I just love saying that. She ended the class with Katy Perry’s song “Firework,” which just so happens to be the song I told my daughter I wanted played as people left my funeral.

Okay, I know that sounds morbid, but I assure you it’s normal for me and my daughter! We laugh and discuss that stuff all the time. And seriously, something about that song captures my spirit.
