FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Two people are dead and another person is in the hospital after a head-on car crash along Highway 287 in Fort Worth. The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. Monday morning, and involved two people in a Cadillac and a tow truck driver.

The Cadillac entered the highway traveling in the wrong direction, police said, driving southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic. The driver and the passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to Pedro Criado with the Fort Worth Police Department. The tow truck driver was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth with a leg injury, and is expected to recover just fine.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victims as 24-year-old Christopher Brookins and 25-year-old Eric Jordan.

Police say the passenger in the Cadillac — Jordan — was out celebrating his 25th birthday, which was on Monday. The two men were heading back home from the downtown area. Shortly before the crash happened, police say Jordan was on a cell phone telling someone that he thought the car was traveling the wrong way on the highway.

how sad..celebrating his birthday? maybe too much to drinK?exit and entrance ramps are confusing in some areas and need better and bigger signage..if the man had been drinking that might not have helped anyway…

does it make it sad that he died on his birthday or that as you said “maybe too much to drink?” Im sure to the family it doesn’t matter one way or the other! all the know is that their love one is no longer here!! Someone lost their son, someone lost her fiance, someone lost their father, someone lost their brother, someone lost their grandchild and many lost a friend. There is someone wishing they could turn back the hands of time and didnt have to witness that horrible tragedy. Had it been you family member would it really matter what they cause was? just asking that you be a little bit mor empathathic to the people that just suffered a loss of a loved one.

nothing i said was of disrespect to the deceased or to their families..why didnt you respond to nitenurse who said between 2-3 am is when people are returning home from the bars? i did not say the two had been drinking..i posed a question because the article is not clear..by the way..i almost lost my brother several years ago to a drunk driver ..he was severly injured but recovered..the drunk driver was killed..you must be a friend of the family and if you are, i am sorry for your loss….

At hospitals the ER always looks at the clock when it’s between 2am and 3am we all know it’s the most dangerous time to be on the road because drunks try to drive home from the bars.
