There is lots of diverse entertainment on stage in North Texas this weekend! First up – Alec Baldwin!! The multiple Emmy award winner brings his funny but also serious side to the AT&T Performing Arts Center this Friday night at 8pm as part of the popular Brinker Forum Series. He is expected to entertain the crowd with wonderful Hollywood stories and some personal anecdotes as well.
Next up – the Tony award winning RENT returns to the area with performances thru this weekend at Casa Manana in Fort Worth. The powerful musical shocked and thrilled audiences when it debuted in the ’90’s and is now as relevant as ever with it’s strong political and social messages accompanied by it’s award winning music.
You can’t beat Tuna Texas for a really good time so make sure you don’t miss “Tuna’s Greatest Hits: 30 Years of Laughter” being performed now thru this Sunday at the Eisemann Center in Richardson. Jaston Williams and Joe Sears bring some of their (and our!!) favorite characters to life on stage for an hysterical new show that is pulled from the best of their 4 award winning plays.
The Van Cliburn Foundation will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with a festive Gala, to be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Water Gardens Plaza entrance to the Fort Worth Convention Center. The black-tie party, which will hearken back to the Eisenhower/Kennedy era of the Competition’s inception, is chaired by dedicated Cliburn volunteers with entertainment provided by many Van Cliburn Foundation members.
Next week we will take you to Cirque’s much anticipated QUIDAM! See you next week…center stage!
