ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A driver was killed when he lost control of his four-door sedan on Sublett Road and careened into a wooden utility pole Saturday morning.

Arlington Police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said police arrived at the crash shortly after midnight in the 900 block of E. Sublett Road near Twin Maple Drive.

Richard said a fire started near the front of the car after hitting the utility pole and officers were unable to pull the driver out. He was declared dead at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Caleb Koszewski, 23, of Arlington. Richard said a witness told investigators that the car was speeding.

This is the third traffic death in the city this year.

I have emailed the APD in the past about hearing cars speed down Sublett in the middle of the night. They really need to monitor that road and Green Oaks a little more between 12MN and 3am because there’s a lot of dangerous speeding going on that time of night.
