COLLEYVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) – Imagine having millions of dollars to spend: Would you spend all your time in Colleyville? Well, maybe, because that’s where one of the most amazing homes in North Texas is on the market.

With dramatic master suites, expansive outdoor spaces, views, and amenities – luxury living in Dallas/Fort Worth has it all.

And, it’s all for sale right now –– like the ‘Montclair Castle’ located in Colleyville selling for $8.9 million. The entry’s grand staircase leads to a hand-painted mural that circles the entire ceiling. Then follow the beautiful grand hallway back through the house to get a view of the formal gardents outside in the courtyard and the large media viewing room.

Unique touches adorn every room inside this 19,000 sq. ft. home, from the floors on up.

“Ceilings are very important in this home,” said Vanessa Andrews, realtor with Hoffman International Realtors. “Every room has its own story.”

A private oasis awaits you outside with lush gardens, a diving pool, spa, outdoor living room and kitchen. And, if that’s not enough, this nearly three and a half acre lot also has a separate guest house and adjoining tennis court.

When the weather is rough, though, retreat to the master suite with a raised platform bed, sitting area, and fire place. Or destress in the lavish master bathroom with jetted tub and spa-like shower.

Retreat-like master suites are must-haves in today’s luxury homes like the one inside this $1.9 million home in Arlington.

“The best thing about the master suite obviously is that they didn’t just box it in and stick a small window in here,” said Jamie Adams, realtor with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International.

A west coast style view will beckon the buyer of this house, and to complete the picture of luxury, there’s a fully customized master bath with a unique tub and open-ended shower.

“With these types of homes, it’s outside the box, so it’s going to take more of a non-traditional buyer,” Adams said.

Resort-style outdoor living shines in a North Dallas home – worth $2.4 million.

“You don’t realize you’re right in the city in North Dallas,” said Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International realtor Pogir.

The tranquil pool area leads to a spacious outdoor kitchen, and nearly two acres of natural surroundings.

“It really makes it feel like a park-like setting,” Pogir said.

While inside, the retreat feeling continues in the master suite featuring intricate woodwork throughout the bedroom and bathroom.

Whether it’s an indoor retreat or an outdoor oasis you seek, when it comes to luxury listings in DFW, there’s something for everyone, realtors say. That is, if everyone had millions of dollars to spend.

  • R. Camp

In this time of high unemployment and record foreclosures, this was a pointless story. Do you really think the ultra-wealthy homebuyer that would be the target market for homes like this spend their evenings watching CBS-11 News? Give us some real news please, this was not newsworthy!

    • luxurylover

Dear R. Camp, Sorry you feel that way. Yes, times are very tough for most of us. If you are not interested in things of beauty, don’t watch. But do not impose your negativity on the rest of us. It is fun to dream, try it.

If they cover nothing but negative so called “newsworthy” items only, we’ll probably die young of depression. Let some light in and live a little.

Wow! What beautiful homes. Colleyville is an amazing area because it has both the new mansions and the old small homes. I think it is an awesome mix of new and older, and there are still horses in the area! It is the “tree captial” of the area. Southlake is just too congested, come to Colleyville and relax, enjoy.

Thak you for airing these marvelous places for us all to enjoy!
