FERRIS (CBSDFW.COM) – Beatings, stabbings and gunfire broke out at what was supposed to be a family celebration in Ellis County Saturday night.
The sheriff’s department says an argument over alcohol at a girl’s 15th birthday party near Ferris spiraled out of control a little after midnight, resulting in four people being shot, two being beaten and two people being stabbed.
One person died as result of the gunfire. An 11 year-old got caught up in the violence, but authorities say that child survived. Names and conditions are not being released, but the sheriff’s department did say that a few of the victims had to have surgery early Sunday morning.
