DALLAS (AP) – Police say a man died after struggling with officers.

Officers were working off-duty at an apartment complex early Saturday when they say they saw a 44-year-old man acting erratically in the courtyard. When they attempted to speak with him, he was unresponsive, and they called for additional officers.

A release says that when the officers engaged the man, a struggle ensued. After being handcuffed, the man stopped breathing. He was transported to Baylor Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
