TCU Looks To Hire LSU Basketball Coach

(AP) - A person familiar with the decision tells The Associated Press that TCU is set to hire Trent Johnson as its next basketball coach.

The person said Saturday night that Johnson, who has been at LSU the past four seasons, will be introduced on the Fort Worth campus as early as Monday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because no official announcement had been made.

TCU, moving next season from the Mountain West Conference to the Big 12, is replacing Jim Christian.

Christian left last week to return to the Mid-American Conference as coach at Ohio University. He won at least 20 games in each of his six seasons at Kent State before moving to TCU.

Johnson is 67-64 at LSU, including an 18-15 record last season.
