Grapevine PD: Owner Of Lion Used In Easter Service Has Permit

GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) – On Easter Sunday, a Grapevine pastor used theatrics to explore the Gospel –– it just so happened that he brought along a lion and a lamb. And he didn’t have a permit.

On Wednesday, police are still investigating whether issue a ticket to the Fellowship Church over Pastor Ed Young’s sermon.

By not informing the city of Grapevine, the church may have violated an ordinance. But, at least, the owner of the lion has the proper permit, said Sgt. Robert Eberling.

Then again, not every wild animal is considered dangerous.

“Evidently, they planned on … bringing a camel, but we don’t believe that would make the classification of a wild or dangerous animal,” Eberling said.
