ALVORD (CBSDFW.COM) – A Forth Worth teenager is dead and his twin brother was injured in a car accident on US 287 this weekend.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday night on the southbound lanes of the highway.
According to Lonny Haschel of the Texas Department of Public Safety, 18-year-old Josh Hernandez was driving a red Saturn when he traveled off the east side of the road. When Hernadez tried to get back on he lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle then went across the southbound lanes of the highway and collided with the west side guardrail.
The Saturn then went down an embankment before coming to a stop. Hernandez and his passenger, twin brother Jesse, were both taken to Wise Regional Hospital for treatment.
The driver was later transferred to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where he died.
