DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Parkland Hospital’s cancer program just got accredited by the world’s largest association of surgeons.

The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer recently reviewed the hospital’s program and gave it a three-year accreditation.

Parkland’s program is a joint effort between the hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Parkland says it treats more than 2,000 cancer cases each year.
