LINCOLN, NE (AP) – Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has given running back Aaron Green permission to transfer.
Green appeared in 12 games as a freshman last season, rushing 24 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns and catching one pass for 25 yards and a TD. The San Antonio native appeared to be the No. 3 running back coming out of spring practice, behind Rex Burkhead and Ameer Abdullah.
The team announced the move Monday. Tony Green told the Lincoln Journal Star that his son wants to transfer to a school closer to home, such as Oklahoma, Houston, Baylor, Texas Tech or TCU.
Andrew Green, Aaron’s brother, is in line to be a starting cornerback for the Cornhuskers this fall.
