It’s a very important holiday weekend so bring out your best patriotic pride and enjoy all that North Texas has to offer this Memorial Day!
First up – the AT&T Performing Arts Center Presents Local Motion beginning this Saturday at 9:00a. Join the fit and the wanting to be fit every Saturday from this weekend through June 9th for Local Motion, a FREE outdoor fitness series including Yoga, Zumba and Boot Camps. Join the fitness craze and relax with Yoga, come dance with the licensed Zumba instructor or combine traditional exercise and core functional conditioning with the tailored Boot Camps. Just remember to bring drinking water to hydrate!
The Dallas Zoo officially kicks off summer with a family fun event filled with animals, entertainment, and dining options. For music lovers and animal enthusiasts alike, the event, produced in partnership with Kessler Entertainment Group, features Dallas’ own A Hard Night’s Day band. So bring out the whole family for Dallas Zoo Summer Family Fun Kick-Off Friday from 6:00p to 9:00p
Check out Three Dog Night Sunday at 9:00p at Billy Bob’s in Ft Worth. The popular band scored a succession of 21 hit singles, including eleven Top Tens, and twelve consecutive gold albums from 1969 to 1975, thanks to the slick, sometimes soulful vocal harmonies of singers.
God of Carnage has opened at the Kalita Humphries Theater in Dallas. The play has 2 couples meeting to discuss their 11 year old children’s violent incident. It all starts out sweetly and then real emotions come to the surface. It’s fast paced and acted out in real time – suitable for teens and older. The Dallas Theater Center’s production of the Tony award winning drama has received rave reviews and continues through June 17th.
Lastly – make sure you celebrate and check out all the various community parades, events and concerts happening on Monday celebrating Memorial Day. One popular event is the Memorial Day Concert & Fireworks Display at Flagpole Hill Monday at 8p – in the case of inclement weather the concert will be moved to the Meyerson in Dallas.
