AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Attorney General’s office says a Sachse man used a Craigslist ad to solicit an underage boy for sex.
In reality the “boy” was an undercover officer in the AG’s Cyber Crimes Unit. And the suspect, Richard Kaiser, is now in jail.
The AG’s office says its investigator posed as a 13-year-old boy and responded to Kaiser’s ad. Kaiser arranged to meet the “boy” in Austin for a sexual liason, according to the AG.
When he showed up, officers arrested him.
Kaiser is charged with online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony. If convicted, he could go to jail for as long as ten years.
Since Attorney General Greg Abbott established it in 2003, the Cyber Crimes Unit has arrested about 100 people for online solicitation of children.
