FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – One person is dead and the driver of a semi truck is hospitalized after a bizarre accident in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Fort Worth late Friday evening.

The driver of the truck, which was not attached to a trailer, was involved in an accident with a police car near Camp Bowie and Merrick in West Fort Worth when the semi drove off down an alley, crossing onto Hulen Street just as a minivan was crossing the intersection of Hulen at Calmont Avenue.

The driver of the semi collided with the minivan, sending both vehicles into a nearby garage.  The minivan driver was killed instantly.

The two passengers in the minivan were transported to a nearby hospital.  Both are said to be in critical condition.  The driver of the semi fled the vehicle and was located nearby in a house.

When officers found the driver, he was having a seizure.  He was taken to JPS hospital, his condition and identification have not been released.
