DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Two men in their early 30s were found shot dead inside a Red Bird area residence in the 300 block of Annarose Drive on Sunday evening, Dallas Police Department spokesman Sgt. Warren Mitchell said.
Witnesses called police at 5:17 p.m. after hearing gunshots, Mitchell explained. Upon their arrival, officers found the two men inside the residence. They were declared dead at the scene.
A third person was found outside the location with multiple gunshots to his “upper and lower extremities,” Mitchell wrote in an email. He was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvassing for evidence, Mitchell said. He did not release further information, but confirmed that police are investigating the incident as a double homicide.
At the scene, detectives were not allowed to enter the home until getting a warrant. They secured the document just before 9:30 p.m.
Neighbors said that the residence was a rental with a high turnover rate.
