CORSICANA (AP) – An undercover operation has led to recovery of about $10,000 worth of mattresses stolen from a North Texas company and allegedly offered on Craigslist.
The Corsicana Daily Sun reported Monday that two former employees of Corsicana Bedding have been arrested. A warrant has been issued for a third worker.
A company official contacted police last month about missing mattresses. An officer posing as potential buyer called a number listed online.
Two undercover officers met with the ex-employees May 24 in the parking lot of a home improvement store. An officer bought four mattresses and put down a deposit on six more. The mattresses were still in Corsicana Bedding packages.
The suspects were arrested on theft charges when the deal was completed.
Corsicana is about 60 miles southeast of Dallas.
