IRVING (AP) – Cornerback Mike Jenkins is back at Valley Ranch with the rest of his Dallas Cowboys teammates.
After skipping voluntary workouts this offseason, Jenkins rejoined the team Tuesday for the start of a mandatory veteran minicamp. The three-day session is the last for the Cowboys until reporting to training camp in California in late July.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett insists that Jenkins has a role with the football team despite his attitude that was clearly on display at Valley Ranch after practice on Tuesday.

Jenkins had previously remained home in Florida while rehabilitating from shoulder surgery. Even though he was at the minicamp, he was unable to do much because of the injury.
Jenkins is going into the final year of his contract after the Cowboys added two prominent cornerbacks this offseason – free agent Brandon Carr and LSU All-American cornerback Morris Claiborne with the sixth overall draft pick.
