GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) – Grapevine Fire Rescue pulled a fisherman’s body from Lake Grapevine Wednesday morning, Sgt. Robert Eberling said.
Dispatchers got a call at 10:08 a.m. reporting a person’s body floating in about six feet of water off a jetty near the Silver Lake Marina at 2500 Fairway Drive in Grapevine.
Eberling said a fisherman in a boat noticed the body and called police. Grapevine and Flower Mound’s Fire Rescue teams pulled the body out. Eberling said the victim was a fisherman wearing waders and fishing offshore.
He didn’t know if the victim hit a drop off and drowned, was overcome by waves or if his death was the result of a health condition.
They don’t know who the man is and are checking vehicles nearby to see if he left any identification inside. Foul play is not suspected.
