FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Born in the West Texas town of Big Spring, singer/songwriter Mark McKinney is making a name for himself in the world of country music. Inspired into entertaining by Willie Nelson, the up-and-coming performer has taken his music across the nation, and even as far as France.
McKinney recently released a live album called “Middle America Live,” and he is about to head back into the studio to begin working on a brand new set of tracks. “I really like to write songs,” McKinney told CBS 11 News on Friday. “Writing songs is kind of a passion, and getting to perform them in front of people and entertain people with your songs is like a dream come true.”
McKinney will be performing at Billy Bob’s Texas at 10:30 p.m. on Friday night, but you can check out a preview of his performance — as well as his full interview — by watching the videos below.
