FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Police are still searching for the person who murdered a 17 year old girl and left her body at the back door of a stranger’s home Thursday night.
The victim was identified Friday afternoon by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as Claudia Hidic, 17, of Fort Worth. Police say the homeowner came home to find a woman face down at the back door of his home. The back door had also been kicked in.
The medical examiner confirmed Hidic died from a gunshot wound to the head. The homeowner told police he did not know the vicitm.
Police spent several hours combing the crime indoor and outdoor crime scene.
One neighbor, who did not want to be identified, told CBS 11 he heard strange noises coming from his neighbor’s home around the time the shooting occured.
“It was a loud bang. I thought something backfired,” he said. “I don’t instantly think about a gunshot in this neighborhood.”
No suspects have been named in the case, which has some neighbors worried.
“I’ve got two kids that have asked me, ‘Are we safe?” the man said.

Police in Fort Worth are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found dead at a house not far from the TCU campus.
A 911 call sent police to the house in the 3000 block of West Overton Drive, near South Hulen Street.
When officer arrived they found a woman’s body near the back door of a house.
Police were still at the scene Friday morning and had the area taped off.
The 911 caller was the person discovered the woman’s body, but the individual said they did not know the victim.
The woman was apparently shot and was found face-down on the ground.
Police told CBS 11 News it appeared that the back door of the house had been kicked in. Investigators haven’t given information on the condition of the house and what they believe may have happened inside.
The female victim has not been identified. Her body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
Police haven’t said if they have any suspects in the case.
