DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Two people were hospitalized following a violent five-vehicle collision involving a DART Paratransit bus that shut down all southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway at Oak Lawn Friday afternoon.
All traffic lanes were reopened by 5:50 p.m.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Mark Ball said no passengers were on the bus, only the driver. Footage from Chopper 11 shows the Paratransit bus with a smashed vehicle in front of it, which is then smashed into an SUV that faces the northbound lanes.
Ball did not know how the crash occurred. It happened at about 3 p.m.
“The NTTA is working with law enforcement to clear the accident as soon as possible,” a North Texas Tollway Authority release read.
