FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Claudia Hidic was going to be a senior at Trinity High School in Euless. Her family says she was very sweet and loving. But now they are grieving her death.

Richard Craig was walking in the park across the street the night the 17 year old was killed.

“It was three distinct gunshots, one right after another, boom, boom, boom. I thought it was fireworks going off,” Craig said. “I was over at the water fountain and came around, there were four girls and a dog that were running away from the house.”

Those close to Hidic say she was robbed several nights ago. Investigators are looking into whether the robbery is linked to her murder.

The homeowner who found Hidic’s body told police he does not know her.

The man who lives next to the homeowner who found Hidic’s body says he does not think the homeowner is involved in her death. The neighbor asked that his name not be used. “I know the neighbor is a fantastic guy from a great Fort Worth family. I don’t think, I can’t imagine him being a suspect,” he said.

Though Hidic’s family is not talking on camera, her friends have taken their mourning to Twitter.

One person wrote, “so beautiful and so young. You’ll be missed love. Another tweet says in part “life is short. Tomorrow isn’t promised. And one tweet reads “Even tho we went through a lot… we had a lot of memories. You were my first love… not ashamed to admit it.”

At as of Friday night there have been no arrests related to Hidic’s death.
