DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Search and rescue crew are searching White Rock Lake for a man who went missing Saturday afternoon.

Warreen Mitchell with the Dallas Police Department says a 55-year-old and his 21-year-old son were sitting out in the water on their surfboards Saturday afternoon. The weather then took a turn for the worse and both fell off their boards into the water.

The son was able to swim to shore but the father did not make it. He is believed to have gone underwater.

Dallas Fire Rescue was called to the scene around 3:40 p.m. They have since deployed two boats to look for the father.  Dive teams are also assisting in the search.
