Teen Dies After Duplex Fire

UNIVERSITY PARK (CBSDFW.COM) – A teenager is dead after an overnight duplex fire in University Park Saturday.

According to University Park Community Information Officer Steve Mace, firefighters were called to the 3700 block of West North West Highway around 2 a.m.

When firefighters entered the duplex they found teenager in a bedroom.

He was taken to Parkland Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after.

He has since been identified as 18-year-old James Paul Harrison.

Investigators believe the fire originated in the kitchen area. The investigation is on-going.
