ARLINGTON (CBS SPORTS) - Roy Oswalt has been scratched from his scheduled Monday start against the Boston Rex Sox due to lower back tightness, the Texas Rangers reported via Twitter. Scott Feldman will replace him in the starting rotation.
Oswalt has a 5.22 ERA through his first five starts, but much of the damage came in a 4.2 IP, 11-run outing against the White Sox on July 3. He allowed just one run in each of his past two starts. At this time, it’s unclear if the injury will cost him more than just the one start.
Feldman has a 5.89 ERA for Texas this season in 16 appearances (10 starts). He has a solid 2.44 K/BB but is allowing 10.5 hits per nine innings.
