DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The number of people infected with the West Nile Virus continues to climb across North Texas, and now a third person has died from the disease.
In a press conference Friday afternoon, Dallas County Health & Human Services director Zachary Thompson confirmed a third person in Dallas County had died after being diagnosed with West Nile Neuroinvasive Disease.
The victim has since been confirmed to be a 43-year-old victim from Grand Prairie.
The Garland Health Department has also reported two confirmed human cases of West Nile virus on Friday afternoon.
Dallas County has reported total of 82 confirmed human cases of West Nile virus. Tarrant County has reported 52 cases, Denton County has reported 31 and Collin County has reported 6.
