HOUSTON – (CBS 11 News) Ted Cruz’s campaign headquarters is packed with supporters.  The mood is upbeat here tonight.

As of 8:00pm, Cruz leads Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst statewide 52-48% with 9.6% of precincts reporting.

Less than one percent of precincts have reported in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties.

It’s very close in Dallas County where Cruz holds the slightest of leads over Dewhurst 50.4 to 49.6%.

In Tarrant County, Cruz leads Dewhurst 57-43%.

In Collin County, Cruz has a 60-40% edge.

In Denton County, Cruz has a 62-38% lead over Dewhurst.
